Ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinal game against Algeria’s Desert Warriors on Saturday, former Real Madrid player Mutiu Adepoju has mentioned three other countries besides Nigeria that have impressed him at the tournament.

The Super Eagles are going into the quarterfinal game against Algeria on Saturday night feeling confident, having won all four of their games so far in regular time.

Apart from Nigeria, Adepoju pointed out Morocco, Ivory Coast and Senegal as the teams he thinks have real chances of winning the title.

“Besides the Super Eagles, Morocco has been making their presence felt,” Adepoju said on Eagle7 Sports Radio.

“Let’s not focus on the second-round game they had, which was tough for them to win.

“Ivory Coast has been very strong right from the start. Just like Nigeria, they have been improving. Let’s see what happens with Egypt today.

“Senegal have made a statement. These are really strong teams that could win Afcon along with Nigeria.”

The winner of the Algeria vs Nigeria match will play against the host country Morocco in the semifinals of the 2025 Afcon on Wednesday, January 14 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
