Speaker Niger Assembly Sarkin-Daji condemns terrorist attack in Borgu, sympathizes with victims
The Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji, has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack on communities in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
He described the incident as sad, painful, and unacceptable.
The attack occurred at Kasuwan Daji Market in Sukumbara Village, resulting in the deaths of over 30 people and abduction of many others, including children.
In a statement, Sarkin-Daji expressed his deep sorrow and sympathy to the people of Borgu Emirate and all Nigerians, extending condolences to the victims’ families.
He noted that the victims include both Muslims and Christians from different communities, emphasizing that such acts of violence go against the values of peace and unity.
The Speaker assured the affected communities that the Niger State Government, in collaboration with the Federal Government and security agencies, is working to rescue the kidnapped victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting lives and property, praying for the quick recovery of those injured.
