Venezuelan President Maduro to face criminal charges – US Senator Lee
United States Senator Mike Lee has said that Venezuelan President, Nicolas Maduro, will face criminal charges in the United States.
DAILY POST had reported that President Donald Trump announced the capture of Maduro and his wife on Saturday.
Trump disclosed the capture in a post on his Truth Social on Saturday.
Reacting, Senator Lee said, “Just got off the phone with Secretary Rubio. He informed me that Nicolás Maduro has been arrested by US personnel to stand trial on criminal charges in the United States.
“The the kinetic action we saw tonight was deployed to protect and defend those executing the arrest warrant
“This action likely falls within the president’s inherent authority under Article II of the Constitution to protect US personnel from an actual or imminent attack.”
