Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Arsenal.

The 23-year-old Ecuadorian defender has expressed a clear preference to join the Gunners, despite interest from multiple clubs. Manager Mikel Arteta views Hincapie as the ideal addition to strengthen Arsenal’s defensive options.

To accommodate the signing, Arsenal is reportedly looking to offload Jakub Kiwior, creating space for Hincapie in the squad.

Hincapie is versatile, capable of playing both as a left-back and a centre-back. Arsenal’s proposed deal is expected to be a loan with an obligation to buy.

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the update on X, stating:

“Piero HincapiÊ has said yes to Arsenal and personal terms have been agreed, long-term deal ready. Understand HincapiÊ favors #AFC and is also seen as an ideal signing by Arteta. Arsenal prepare opening bid, likely loan + obligation to buyâ€Ļ with Kiwior to FC Porto soon.”
