Crypto follows Martin "Marty" Duran (Beau Knapp), a young anti-money laundering (AML) analyst at Omnicorp Bank in Manhattan. After exposing a major violation by a potential client, Marty is demoted to a small-town branch in Elba, New York. There, he reconnects with his childhood friend Earl (Jeremie Harris), who operates a failing liquor store and mines cryptocurrency to stay afloat. Marty's investigation into the bank's records leads him to a web of corruption involving a local art gallery, a Russian mafia syndicate, and his own bank's executives. As the conspiracy unravels, Marty and his allies must confront dangerous adversaries to expose the truth.
