In The Prosecutor (2024), former police detective Fok Chi-ho (Donnie Yen), disillusioned after failing to convict a ruthless armed robbery gang leader due to lack of evidence, leaves the force and retrains as a lawyer. Seven years later, as a dedicated public prosecutor in Hong Kong's Department of Justice, he takes on a seemingly straightforward drug trafficking case. A poor young man, Ma Ka-kit, living in a low-income home with his uncle, is tricked by a friend into collecting a courier package containing a kilogram of cocaine.
